How to Make the Best Asian Beef Bowl
This recipe is one we have been preparing for Drizzle Kitchen Private Chef clients for years. It’s a lovely recipe that is not only quick but very easy to put together. It’s happy tucked into a lettuce wrap or over a bowl of rice or with some rice noodles. It takes well to spinach being wilted into it, fresh basil topping it, stir fried broccoli folded into it…the list goes on and on.
It’s such a crowd pleaser also so if you need a meal to drop off with a neighbor or a meal to please a big group this one is it! The meat itself has just a few ingredients, ground beef (or pork), ginger, garlic, maple syrup, mirin and then either tamari, coconut aminos or my top-9 free No Soy Soy Sauce. Pretty straightforward and easy!
Some of my favorite sides to serve alongside:
-marinated cucumbers. peel and slice 4 mini cucumbers. grate about 1″ ginger, slice 1-2 green onions and mix that with the cucumbers then cover with seasoned rice vinegar.
–blistered snap peas. slice snap peas in half. heat a pan, preferably cast iron, over medium-high heat and add a glug of grapeseed oil. Saute the snap peas until they start to slightly blister and take on color. Finish with sea salt.
-chopped broccoli. slice broccoli and saute in a bit of oil until cooked through. finish with sea salt.
-prepared kimchi
-thinly sliced radishes
-steamed rice
-cooked rice noodles
-butter lettuce leaves for wrapping
-fresh herbs for topping such as basil, mint, cilantro
